Introduction to the C4 Initiative: Lesson Plan

This Lesson Plan provides teachers with two activities involving the C4 Initiative in which students connect with their community by interviewing or shadowing/volunteering with an individual or group that positively impacts their local community. Students will view a short film and answer questions and work together in a carousel activity and gallery walk to figure out what sector of the community they feel passionate about in order to research and present on it. Students will write their presentation proposal on a Graffiti wall in the classroom. Student presentations will be assessed using the rubric provided. Extension activities are provided.
